Pipeline M et P’s drug delivery system has been successful as evidenced by pre-clinical and clinical studies on the nasal administration of several drugs. Nasobol® (MPP 10) treats male testosterone deficiency, counteracting typical physical and psychological symptoms of hypogonadism (from loss of muscle strengths to depression). Sustained release of testosterone into the blood yields restitution of the cyclical hormone concentrations of healthy young men.
Noseafix® (MPP 14) is a testosterone formulation for female sexual dysfunction. In phase-I trials acute CNS effects have been detected, indicating that an “on-demand” mode of administration may be preferable over daily application of testosterone.
Dopamine has many functions in the brain. DopaMat (MPP 18) is a new delivery form for dopamine to access the brain treating malfunctions such as Parkinson’s disease. It will be the first product that brings genuine dopamine into the brain (as opposed to L-dopa which is currently used). Progesterone belongs to the group of neurosteroids that are found at high concentrations in certain areas of the brain. The Company’s ProgestoMat (MPP 22) is supposed to deliver progesterone to the brain to treat PMS and depression, and to reduce neuronal death after traumatic brain injury.
Pregnenolone belongs to the group of neurosteroids that are found at high concentrations in certain areas of the brain. In a preclinical trial PregnenoMat (MPP 26) showed memory-enhancing effects at very low doses. |
